FIRM OVERVIEW

Frank Eppes and Lee Plumblee

The personal relationship between the principals of Eppes & Plumblee led to the establishment of the firm and represents the core of the firm’s values. In an age of formal mission statements, Eppes & Plumblee’s goal is simply to treat its members, its employees, and its clients with the loyalty and support which the principals in the firm have shown each other since 1967.

Eppes & Plumblee, P.A. was established in May of 1997 by Frank L. Eppes and L. Lee Plumblee. Both principals in the firm were born and raised in Greenville. They have been friends since the first grade.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina School of law as first honor graduate, Mr. Eppes clerked for the Honorable Robert F. Chapman of the Fourth United States Circuit Court of Appeals before becoming associated with the New York firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton where he practiced from 1987 until 1996.

Mr. Plumblee practiced for ten years with the Greenville firm of Love, Thornton, Arnold & Thomason, P.A., where he was a partner between 1991 and 1997.

The return of Mr. Eppes to Greenville in 1997 provided the opportunity for these friends to practice together, a notion first conceived when the two were in law school. Mr. Eppes turned down offers from larger and more established Greenville firms, and Mr. Plumblee resigned from his former firm in order to open their practice together with two folding chairs, two folding tables, three computers, and a secretary, who was the only person receiving a paycheck.

Eppes & Plumblee represents clients ranging from local individuals and businesses to multi-national corporations in all manner of civil and criminal litigation. Both principals have maintained excellent personal relationships with their former firms and continue to receive referrals from those firms as well as from many other local and nationwide law firms on a regular basis.
